As of Dec. 31, 1999, new mercury vapor fixtures are no longer available. As of July 2017, new sodium vapor fixtures are no longer available. The 153-watt light-emitting diode (LED) fixture is the replacement comparable. CDEC also makes 70-watt LED and 101-watt LED replacements available.
Below are links to CDEC's current rate schedules for lighting, which incorporate the co-op's move to light-emitting diode (LED) technology for both Private Area Lighting and Street Lighting Service. The installation fee for a CDEC light fixture is $460.00, per fixture. (CDEC currently installs 153-watt LED fixtures for an installation fee of $379, per fixture, thanks to an energy-efficiency rebate made available by the co-op's power supplier Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association.)
Private Area Lighting is available to all consumers within CDEC's service area, except for the lighting of public thoroughfares. (If a new pole and transformer are required, CDEC's Engineering Department will need to provide an estimate.) Click here to view the approved rate filing.
Street Lighting Service is available only for city and town street lighting under agreement with the governmental body within CDEC's service area. (If a new pole and transformer are required, CDEC's Engineering Department will need to provide an estimate.) Click here to view the approved rate filing.
